In a surprise move, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has announced the launch of three-year undergraduate (UG) degree program - Online BBA programme in Digital Business Entrepreneurship (DBE). The first batch of IIMB Online BBA will commence in September 2024 with 1000 students. The course lectures will be delivered online in an asynchronous (recorded) format. This announcement was made by IIMB Director Prof Rishikesha T. Krishnana on May 24, 2024. Offering the rational for offering this program, Prof. Krishnan said, “As an institute, we have 10 years of experience delivering high quality online education. One of the most important things about online education is it gives better access. It also helps in bringing down cost substantially. We believe we have the capability to offer a really good learning experience online, and hence, this venture into a full-fledged online undergraduate program.”
